Spotify unveiled the project’s 2024 roster, featuring RADAR returnees, new entrants, and staple voices synonymous with the industry’s current persona. The collection features releases from fresh hip-hop talents Illest Morena and Hev Abi, alongside OPM hitmakers Maki, Cup of Joe, and Dionela. The Philippines’ R&B sound makers Jason Dhakal and Denise Julia, indie sibling duo Ysanygo, and Bicol’s pride dwta, make an appearance, together with RADAR returnee P-Pop girl group BINI.
Since its launch in 2020, Spotify has assisted artists in breaking local boundaries and deepening connections with newfound and existing fans across the globe. Philippines’ RADAR experienced a stream increase of more than 2.5 times since its inception, with a majority of foreign listeners hailing from the U.S.A., Canada, the U.A.E., and Singapore.
“Spotify aims to capture the ways that music and culture are constantly evolving. Through RADAR, we are thrilled to spotlight the breadth of incredible rising talents in the Philippines that span different genres. There is so much to discover and something for every listener. We’ve doubled down in our long-term commitment to artist development and empowered music from Asia to travel the world,” mentions Kossy Ng, Spotify’s Head of Music, Southeast Asia.
