After almost a decade of anticipation, Philippine hip hop group OwFuck has released their first full-length project entitled ACIDIC under Music Colony Records.
The eight-track album captures the best of OwFuck's artistic DNA: intoxicated and punk-inflected deliveries, coupled with indelible trap-forward instrumentals. Longtime fans will find refuge in the group’s signature sound at its most polished, while new listeners can enjoy the mosh-inducing energy passed between the three emcees.
Composed of emcees Paul Cassimir, Lexus, and Astro, OwFuck is known for being one of the pioneers of trap music in the Philippines. As a group, OwFuck has cultivated a dedicated fanbase after carving a name for themselves with remixes of Flatbush Zombies’ “Glorious Thugs” and Keith Ape’s “It G Ma,” followed by their hit singles “Gin at Marijuana,” “G.G.N.P,” and “Gao Lee.”
In 2020, OwFuck produced an LP ‘Ligtas’ in collaboration with fellow Filipino hip hop collective Bawal Clan. The collaborative album was featured in NME‘s 25 Best Asian Albums of 2020 list.
In 2021, OwFuck formally joined Music Colony Records. With features from Zae, Nicole Anjela, Gat Putch, and JRLDM, Acidic is a landmark effort that cements Lexus, Paul Cassimir, and Astro in Philippine hip hop history.
