From his Filipino-inspired knee pads surfacing on social media, Minnesota Vikings’ Camryn Bynum showcases pride for his Filipino roots. Following his game-sealing interception against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7, he proudly pointed to the Philippine flag decal on the rear of his helmet as the hometown crowd rallied behind their Fil-Am safety—with everyone but his wife in attendance.
Camryn Bynum always plays for his family’s country, the Philippines. His wife is currently stuck there because of visa issues.
Bynum just saved a huge #Vikings win over the #49ers — and asked in our unique @nflnetwork postgame interview for any help to get her to the U.S. pic.twitter.com/iiYBBHhfoT

Tying the knot at the Savoy Hotel, Boracay, last March of 2023, Bynum issued a cry for assistance on social media, seeking connections to the local United States Immigration Office for approving his Filipina wife’s I-130 spousal visa. After undergoing a whole season of games without her in attendance, he mentioned the application being previously denied, along with a tourist visa twice in the past.
“Anyone have connections the US immigration office for my wife? She’s in the Philippines and not able to come to the US until her I-130 spousal visa is granted. We’re going on 2 football season of no games for her. We’ve been denied a tourist visa twice so far. RT til she’s home 💜,” he writes.
The 25-year-old California alumnus embraces his mother’s heritage, frequently draping the national banner over his kit during games, his trips to the Philippines to preach about the sport, and his continuous efforts to assist Filipino families through the Bynum Faith Foundation.
