UAAP ROY-MVP Angel Canino Reps ANTA KT8 ‘Wave’ in La Salle’s title win

En route to Taft’s 12th Women’s Volleyball title, Outside Hitter Angel Canino received the tournament’s Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player honors—the second female to do so in the sport

De La Salle Univerity found themselves in an early divot though halted the surging National University Lady Bulldogs. Canino garnered 19 points on 12 attacks, six aces, and a block, winning in three-straight sets: 19-25, 23-25, 25-15, 25-17, 15-10. The Bacolod native tallied 89.375 statistical points (SP),outlasting teammate Jolina Dela Cruz and University of Santo Tomas’ Eya Laure in a tightly contested contest for the MVP.

Seen on foot of the UAAP ROY-MVP, Chinese athletics juggernaut ANTA resurges into the local sporting scene, evidenced by their recent partnerships with the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and teams at the collegiate basketball level.

The pair foreshadows La Salle’s ability to perform in the clutch, as several other Lady Spikers sported ANTA pairs in the back-to-back victory. UAAP 85 Finals MVP Mars Alba donned the KT8 ‘G6′, as the KT8 ‘Twelve Images of Water’ was seen on middle blocker Amie Provido. Instrumental to their near-flawless season, Shevana Laput and Best Setter Thea Gagate both had the KT Splash V on foot.
