Filipino footwear and apparel retailer TITAN adds another sneaker to its collaborative arsenal, tapping Converse through a Weapon makeover that evidences greatness throughout its decade-long existence. Captured on the toes of mid-80s-90s hooping superstars, the decision to drape the legendary hardwood shoe in TITAN’s Gold and Oxblood Red came off as “second nature,” tributing icons of the past for their influence on the future.

The ‘TITANS’ friends-and-family release integrates a primarily sleek white upper, complemented with the brand’s signature threads, the Star Chevron represented in Metallic Gold, the ‘TITANS’ Varsity mark, and their evergreen “For Love of the Game” mantra on the lateral panel to culminate its vintage persona.
Its tongue comprises another easter egg, bearing co-branded mismatched texts—the left pair features the original Converse Weapon woven label as the right shoe showcases a co-branded Converse and TITAN logo lock-up. When placed side-by-side, it essentially reads ‘TITAN Weapon,’ providing a subtle touch to their pioneering partnership.
A love letter to the legendary careers left behind for the present and future to reap, the brainchild of TITAN Project Designer AD Maglaque ushered an 80s-inspired look as an ode to the silhouette’s conception.
“When the team was coming up with concepts for the design of the shoe, our thoughts were drawn to the year 1986, when the Weapon first debuted on the hardwood. Team-inspired shoe colorways were just starting to enter the league, and we wondered—“What if TITAN had a team back then? What would it have looked like, and which colors would have represented it?” Maglaque tells Complex Philippines.

Recognized as the newest entrant to their extensive collaborative resume, the Converse Weapon ‘TITANS’ separates itself from its ancestors through its uniquely constructed narrative.
“Firsts are always special, and so we’d say this first-ever Friends & Family exclusive Converse x TITAN 22 Weapon can be likened to pioneering collabs like the Nike LeBron 16 Low x TITAN ‘Agimat' or the Air Jordan XX3 and XXXV ‘TITAN,’ marking the beginning of remarkable partnerships with each respective brand,” he mentioned.
