Everyone’s favorite web-slinger emerges onto the PlayStation (PS) 5, upgraded through a next-generation makeover. Apart from its dynamic in-game experience, updated 4K resolution, and the Parker-Morales storyline, Spider-Man’s iconic threads seep into the successor of the 2018 (Marvel’s Spider-Man) and 2020 (Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales) titles—two of which are proudly-Filipino designed.
Former Filipino Marvel Senior Designer Anthony Francisco introduces Philippine-inspired suits: the “25th Century” and “Agimat”, which are exclusive to the digital deluxe edition.
The original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, receives a futuristic silver-plated Pym Particle-like suit with an Ant-Man-inspired headpiece. Miles Morales is slated in a combination of what appears to cater to Francisco’s upbringing. Dubbed the “Agimat” colorway, Miles’ threads integrate a colorful purple-gold palette inspired by the indigenous tribes in the Philippines. The suit may draw comparisons to the Blank Panther’s signature costume, and just like with the latter, national representation is an underlying factor in its design.
Spider-Man 2 on the PS5 releases worldwide on October 5.
