Recognized for his culturally parodic skits, Fil-Am comedian Jo Koy continues his partnership with Netflix, bringing two more stand-up comedy specials to fruition.
Since his self-titled debut of his Seattle set, the juggernaut streaming service has released three installments (“Comin’ in Hot,” “In His Elements,” and “Live from the LA Forum”), with the planned two marking his fifth and sixth episodes to date. Responsible for his 2017 and 2019 TV specials, Art & Industry will cover the first production at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre dates on November 10-11, 2023, as the premiere eyes a 2024 release.
From his modest beginnings performing at a Las Vegas coffee house, Koy integrates his familial bond through his skits, tributing his upbringing and relationships with his peers. The recipient of various comedian awards and appearances on late-night shows, his renowned performances tackle relatable themes, such as venturing into his experiences of raising a millennial and the reality of Filipino households.
Delivering new materials, his current “Jo Koy World Tour” evidences his comedic acclaim, selling out the upcoming August 19-21 weekend in Guam, with stops in North America to populate the remaining months of 2023.
