The ABS-CBN Star Cinema’s dark comedy original was released nationwide last September 27, 2023, selling 32,000 tickets in over 250 theatres. It eyes a global premiere on October 6, 2023, for its US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Guam, Saipan, Middle East, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and Nigerian audiences.

Starring Dolly de Leon (Triangle of Sadness) and Kathryn Bernardo (Hello, Love, Goodbye), the 90-minute film’s “payback” theme is projected by its leading females, witnessing Philo’s (Bernardo) revenge plot against retail mogul Mother Molly (de Leon), following a series of unfortunate events triggered through a heartless firing.
Hollywood welcomed the Filipino icons on its red carpet during A Very Good Girl’s North American opening night. A gathering of local stars and international personalities, both de Leon and Bernardo appeared alongside “Bretman Rock, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” alumnus Manila Luzon, “She Hulk: Attorney at Law” actor Ginger Gonzaga, and other Fil-Am celebrities across film, TV, and theater.”

ABS-CBN president and CEO Carlo Katigbak spoke about the momentous occasion, having Filipino cinema seep into its Western audiences.

Hopefully this movie does well and proves to the rest of the world that the Filipino talent is as good as the best,” Katigbak mentioned.
