Vans’ distinction as an “icon of creative expression” embraces the American retro-fashion persona of Japanese streetwear staple NEIGHBORHOOD through an updated take on its Sk8-Mid 83 model. Noting the brands’ collaborative history, they enhance the American skateboarding manufacturer’s evergreen pair with features reflecting their joint dedication to quality and street culture.
An ode to its 1978 origins, the Sk-8 silhouette was the original recipient of Vans’ now-iconic Vans Sidestripe (formerly known as the “jazz stripe”), providing additional ankle support and comfort during park runs.
Its 2023 convergence integrates premium suede and leather on the upper, as an embossed “NBHD” covers the heel and sleek “NEIGHBORHOOD” branding on the toe. Co-branding elements slate the monochromatic pair’s tongue and insole, as Shinsuke Takizawa’s “CRAFT WITH PRIDE TOKYO EST. 1994″ detail sits along the midsole.
The Vans x NEIGHBORHOOD Sk8-Mid 83 DX collection comes in two colorways—”Natural” (Cream) and “Black” and is now available in the Philippines through Vans’ Glorietta and SM Megamall branches, as well as through Vans.com.
