Recognized for his parodic skits centered around Western chefs’ attempts on Asian dishes, Malaysian YouTube food critique Nigel Ng Kin-ju (otherwise known as Uncle Roger) reprimands cooking TV Personality Rachael Ray for her “questionable” Chicken Adobo recipe, broadcasted on her namesake show.

Considering the criticalness behind concocting traditional Filipino dishes, Uncle Roger was expressively unfiltered—flagging, and (somewhat) reacting violently to the methods of the American chef.
From utilizing olive oil as the base of the dish to substituting the rich-sour taste for spiciness (notably using jalapeños instead of the customary siling labuyo), he continuously mentioned his familiar “Haiya”—uttering his disappointment during the near-11 minute reaction clip.
Despite checking out most boxes—selecting the most desirable parts of the chicken, adding a surplus amount of black pepper, crushed garlic, bay leaf, and white vinegar, Ray’s garlic rice variation enraged the Malaysian YouTuber, boiling crushed garlic in chicken stock, where raw rice grains were added and seasoned with coriander and sesame seeds.
“What the hell? Why you putting random sh*t into the rice,” he furiously mentioned.
As conventional as it is to recycle leftover rice coupled with minced garlic, he motioned his disappointment with the entirety of Ray’s recipe by finally “putting his leg down from the chair.”
