With over a thousand beaches populating its archipelago, two of the Philippines’ white-sand paradises made The World’s 50 Best Beaches list for 2024. Palawan’s Entalula Beach and Romblon’s Bon Bon Beach were shortlisted based on the criteria of “Uniqueness,” “Wildlife,” “Untouched,” “Soundtrack of Nature,” “Easy to Enter,” “Often Calm Water,” “Not Too Crowded,” and “Frequently Idyllic”.
Regarded as a “laid-back undeveloped paradise,” the 45th-ranked Romblon’s Bon Bon Beach boasts a natural sandbar, visible during low tide. The fine and white sanded vicinity invites visitors to cross its clear blues to the neighboring Banguing Island, as its calm waters are ideal for swimming, minus large currents. Bon Bon Beach’s secluded environment offers minimal foot traffic—a retreat from the area’s tourist-heavy spots.
Palawan’s Entalula Beach garnered the list’s fourth spot, known for the striking limestone cliffs that back its white, sandy coast. The region’s “overlooked slice of heaven” is known for its clear waters, excellent for swimming and snorkeling with vibrant coral reefs a couple of meters away from its shores. The location is only accessible by boat and converges nature with tranquility.

Apart from the top 50 prospects, El Nido, Palawan’s Hidden Beach claims a permanent “Best of the Best” distinction on its roster, along with five other global locations. The small cove, which is tucked away behind towering limestone cliffs and is invisible from the outside, features shallow crystal clear waters that are only accessible by boat and a quick swim through a small opening.
Curated by travel professionals consisting of in-house experts and The World’s 50 Best Beaches’ esteemed Beach Ambassadors, the shortlist takes into consideration first-hand entries through nominations and descriptions that elude any structured metrics.
“Each vote was accompanied by a compelling description, adding depth to the selection process and making sure extra thought was put into the vote,” the website reads.
