Relatives of Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate Catherine Camilon extend a cry for help with news of the 26-year-old’s disappearance on October 12, 2023. Camilon was reportedly traveling from Tuy to Batangas City, briefly stopping over at a gasoline station in Bauan to wait for a friend—her final update last Thursday around 8:33 PM before her mobile device lost service, according to her family.
A day following her absence, Chin-chin Camilon issued a public plea for assistance regarding her sister’s location, considering her usual nature of updating her family regularly.

(Maybe the individual Catherine was with last night during her work is reading this. I don’t recall who, though if ever you would know about her whereabouts, please inform us immediately. The last time she contacted us was around 8:00 PM. Her phone has been off since this morning and she hasn’t gone online. She usually updates us, though this would be the first time she hasn’t.)
Tuy police chief Major Eugenio Napthali Solomon mentioned on the morning of October 17, 2023, that authorities have yet to come into contact with the beauty queen, five days since she went missing. In their search, they examined the Bauan gasoline station. Unfortunately, the CCTV cameras installed within the vicinity were not operational.
“Tinutukoy pa natin itong registered owner nitong sasakyan dahil according sa pamilya ay hindi po sa kanilang anak nakarehistro ang pangalan. Tinutukoy pa po natin ang owner para matunton natin sino mismong tao ang napagbilihan para malaman natin kung ito ay na-install-an ng GPS para matrack natin,” said Major Solomon.
(We’re still looking for the vehicle’s owner because according to her family, it was not registered under Catherine’s name. We’re still looking for the owner to be able to indicate if a GPS was installed for us to be able to track.)
