No movie is off limits for Disney‘s live-action streak.
Sources now tell the outlet that writer/director Sarah Polley—who won an Oscar this year for the critical darlingWomen Talking—is in negotiations to direct.

Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves is rumored to be a musical contributor, and Transparent writers Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster completed the most recent script draft.
Bambi premiered in 1942. The remake will join Disney’s animal-centric CGI reimaginings, including The Lion King, Dumbo, and The Jungle Book. When it was announced in January 2020, writers Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel) and Lindsey Beer (Chaos Walking) were attached.
Disney’s re-animation project list is seemingly endless, as Lilo & Stitch‘s reboot is currently in production. The film stars newcomer Maia Kealoha as Lilo and Netflix’s On My Block actress Sydney Agudong as Nani.
The Rock will yet again star as the demigod Maui; he’ll also produce with Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia from Seven Bucks Productions.
And just in case you thought that was all: Herculesis getting a Disney live-action remake, too.
