‘Call of Duty’ features Kevin Durant as Playable Character

First-person shooter franchise Call of Duty introduces the two-time National Basketball Association (NBA) Champion, Kevin Durant, as a playable character. Set to be accessible by the community in May 2023, the Slim Reaper’s feature in the 2022 reboot of ‘Modern Warfare 2’ marks the cager as the fourth immortalized athlete—with Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and Neymar Jr. undergoing a virtual makeover as an ode to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Durant’s slender guard-forward build sees the 13-time NBA All-Star draped in tactical black-yellow threads with a beanie to culminate the ensemble. Recognized for his aggressive shot-creating ability, the Call of Duty limited-edition bundle features two weapon variants inspired by the superstar's aliases—the ‘Reap This’ AR and the ‘Easy Money’ sniper” blueprints.

“The bundle also includes the “Deadly from Downtown” Finishing Move, the “B-Ball” Weapon Charm, the “Ankle-Breaker” Loading Screen, the “Hoops” Sticker, and the “KD Baller” Animated Emblem,” as disclosed by the developers.

Additionally, the Call of Duty: Mobile community receives a similar experience centered on the “Reaper Rumble” Themed Event, providing the opportunity to obtain tokens and redeem rewards such as KD-slated renditions of the “Razorback, AK-47, Oden, OTs 9, SKS, Calling Card, Avatar, Sticker, and Crossbow” respectively.
