A collaboration first teased during our conversation with WILD Group CEO Leonard Lim, Nadine Lustre has unveiled her first single in two years, “Overgrown”. Per a press release, the track is “about the lessons, challenges, and everything that’s shaped [Nadine] to be who she is today.”
“Overgrown” is drill-based and tastefully mixed with drum and bass elements, making it a unique addition to her discography,” reads the song description.
True to its name, the announcement comes with a visual of Lustre covered in plant life and overgrowth.
“Overgrown” was written and recorded during Lustre’s retreat to Siargao, and serves as a homage to the artist’s experiences, growth, and self-acceptance as she turns 30 years old. The single is also WILD’s first release on Philippines shores, and a peek into the South Korean label’s plans for Filipino talents and the music scene.
Nadine still remains an independent artist following news of her split from Careless in December 2022. “Overgrown” drops at all digital platforms on June 23, 2023.
