Filipina Pop soul icon Moira Dela Torre continues her reign, pioneering the nation’s fledging sound. She’s unmistakably a generational talent—eying music immortalization through receiving her second MTV European Music Award (EMA) nomination.
Recognized as one of MTV’s 2019 nominees under the Best Southeast Asia Act, Dela Torre’s name was included in the list of the American cable channel’s nominees last October 3, 2023, for its Best Asia Act Award. She joins BE:FIRST (Japan), BRIGHT (Thailand), Tiara Andini (Indonesia), and TREASURE (South Korea), competing for the sole recipient come November 5, 2023 at the Paris Nord Villepinte.

This year’s ceremonies return to France after almost three decades, housing 26 first-time nominees over 24 regions. Dela Torre represents the Philippines as the second individual considered for the category, with last year’s rendition featuring Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 victor, Maymay Entrata.
The 29-year-old is recognized as the first solo Filipina artist to surpass 1 Billion streams on Spotify, serenading the industry with her unique and soothing tones. Fans may support her along with personal favorites across categories including “Best Song,” “Best Artist,” and “Best Collaboration,” plus the new “Best Afrobeats” category at www.mtvema.com until October 31, at 11:59 pm CET (November 1, 6:59 am PST).
