Converse Taps Al James, Kiana V For its All Star Anthem

Converse enters the music scene by tapping premier Filipino talent for its first-ever release. Kiana V and Al James collaborated on a track called “Tunog Pinoy” to introduce Filipino street culture and music to the world.

The song combines Kiana and Al’s voices with the sounds of the busy streets of the Philippines – such as the iconic horns of jeepneys and the takatak – to produce a new and original beat that hopes to attract a global audience.

The brand will include the collab in its latest music release, “Converse All Star Anthem,” which will drop this March. The collection will feature new music from artists worldwide, mixing diverse cultural beats, talent, and musical influences.

“I am excited about the turnout of this collaboration with Al James,” said Kiana, whose R&B vibe is expected to combine uniquely with the former’s rap and hip-hop flow. As for James, he is proud of the chance to represent the country, noting that “Filipino talent deserves to be heard around the world.”

Converse teased snippets of “Tunog Pinoy,” which you can check out on their Facebook and Instagram.
