The Sacramento Kings have made another strategic addition to their roster by signing University of Southern California (USC) Trojans guard Boogie Ellis to an Exhibit 10 contract. This marks the third post-draft signing for the Kings on Thursday, following the acquisitions of Isaiah Crawford and Isaac Jones. The Kings have been proactive in undrafted free agency after not making any selections in the second round of this year’s draft.

Boogie Ellis, 23, emerged as one of the top point guard recruits out of high school in 2019. After spending two years with the Memphis Tigers, Ellis transferred to USC, where his collegiate career flourished. The 6-foot-3 point guard averaged 17.1 points, 3.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, shooting 40 percent from deep in his final two years at USC.

Ellis will initially join the Kings in the Summer League, looking to showcase his skills and secure a place in the regular season roster. Known for his athleticism, smooth shooting, and leadership on the court, Ellis brings a versatile skill set that can adapt to the fast-paced demands of the NBA. His quickness and ball-handling prowess are expected to make a strong impression on the coaching staff during the Summer League games.

Despite the uncertainty of securing a permanent spot on the Kings' roster, Ellis' talent and potential are undeniable. After getting an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine, he demonstrated his range and scoring ability from various positions on the court.

Ellis shared on his journey on Instagram, “If you only knew how much I have been through in the last 5 years, I want to thank GOD for putting me in this position. I have gone through all the emotions, but it has shaped me and prepared me for every situation that arises. Nothing is me I’ve earned every chance. Ready for the next chapter. Let’s work on it!”
