Sylvester Stallone’s “Creed” just got a Filipino adaptation, and unlike its Hollywood counterpart, this story is true to life.
Emmanuel Joseph Bacosa Pacquiao, ring name Eman Bacosa, recently made his professional boxing debut last September 23 on “Blow by Blow”, a weekly boxing television show promoted by his alleged father, Manny Pacquiao.
Bacosa, who is 19 years old and stands at 5’10”, would end up with a split-draw decision against Laguna’s Jommel Cudiamat. According to a report, Bacosa was trained under longtime Pacquiao trainer Buboy Fernandez and Dodie Boy Peñalosa.
Bacosa being Pacquiao’s lovechild has been a longstanding rumor, dating back to 2006 when his mother, Joanna Rose Bacosa, unsuccessfully filed a court case against the boxing legend for supposedly failing to provide child support. The elder Bacosa, who said she met Pacquiao while working at a bar he frequented, would reappear again in news headlines in 2011, publicly appealing the same concern.
If proven to be Pacquiao’s child, Eman Bacosa would be the second to take up the gloves after Jimuel Pacquiao, Pacman’s eldest who is training at the Wild Card Boxing Gym in Los Angeles, California.
For now, the only concrete proof of a relationship between Eman and Manny Pacquiao are photos of the two uploaded by Eman himself.
