Seeing playing time for the duration of the series, the ‘5 Rings’ was one of two pairs that debuted on foot during the playoffs. The 2020 retro recounts the greatness of the late-Black Mamba in his dominating sequences in the clutch. Its updated silhouette introduces Nike’s Zoom Turbo, integrating Zoom Air to the entire forefoot of the sneaker, compared to the initial small forefoot Zoom unit. The purple-gold gradients draped over the shoe reflect Kobe’s accomplishments, coupled with his iconic signature plated on the heel cup.

Together with finals MVP Mikey Williams, Hollis-Jefferson secured TNT a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals as the first seed of the conference (10-1). The finale concluded a tightly contested stalemate before TNT commanded the series, winning games five and six. The tournament’s Best Import Awardee averaged 30.3 points per contest, bringing the first Governor’s Cup chip to the Texters.
