Bape and Adidas Launching New Collabs to Celebrate 20th Anniversary

Bape and adidas rework a classic

In 2003, Bape and Adidas teamed up for the first time to release the “Super Ape Star,” sparking a partnership that would leave an imprint on the culture and endure two decades. This year not only marks the 20th Anniversary of the brands’ collaboration, but Bape itself is celebrating 30 years in the streetwear business.

In observation of both, Bape and Adidas are launching a series of five product releases, combining the former’s unique details and graphics with the latter’s most recognizable silhouettes, beginning in April.

To start, the iconic streetwear label and the sportswear giant have reworked the Campus 80s. The pair dons a simple navy-based suede upper with Bape’s star logo alternating with Adidas’ 3-Stripes branding on the sides. There’s also a special 30th Anniversary logo stamped on the tongue, along with a gold lace dubrae attached at the forefoot. Each pair is packaged in a custom-printed box.

Bape has worked on the Campus before, collaborating on a three-way iteration with Undefeated and Adidas in 2013.

The navy-colored Bape x Adidas Campus 80 collab will be released on April 1 at adidas.com, bape.com, and select stockists, with additional collaborative drops between the two following in the months ahead.
