beabadoobee’s New MV is a Love Letter to the Philippines

“Never forget where you came from” is the theme of beabadoobee’s new music video for her latest single, “Glue Song.” The MV sees the Filipino-British artist in the Philippines as she croons about sticking with her favorite person while showing love to her family and the local culture.

Shot in Iloilo City, the vid includes the iconic jeepney, tricycles, wide fields, idyllic seaside, and heartwarming scenes of bea bonding with her lola and immediate family. Born Beatrice Laus, the “Coffee” act moved from Iloilo to London with her parents at the age of 3. She would return to the Philippines in 2022 as part of the Asia Tour for her second album, “Beatopia.”

Debuting on Valentine's day, beabadoobee says the song is “heartfelt” because it signifies the current happy chapter of her life, which has been a long time coming.

“I wrote a lot of this song while on tour across Australia and Asia in the back of cars and traveling. It’s a heartfelt song that means a lot to me…. A love song and the first one I’ve written in my new relationship.

I usually write these songs that are sad, in the past, with my writing even when it doesn’t sound sad looking back, the lyrics usually have been. So for the first time, this is just me being really happy. I’m in a really positive place for the first time in a long time and feeling love.”

More big things are in store for beabadoobee, as she’s set to headline a European tour and serve as a supporting act for Taylor Swift for her “The Eras” stadium tour. You can catch bea’s tour dates here.
